Hayden's new favorite toy!

This morning while I was entering my breakfast on weight watchers online, Hayden was sitting on my lap and decided she wanted the floss I have sitting here on the desk. Ever since...it's her new thing! Starting her early...Maybe eventually we'll work up to actually using the floss inside! ;)

Pictures

We had Hayden's 6 month old pictures taken today (little late, but oh well!) at Sears. I was very happy with how they turned out and managed not to spend a fortune all at the same time! :) Here's a few of my favs...she was a pretty serious girl today, not many smiles!

On the ~MOVE~

I meant to post the other day, but well...I'm too busy chasing after Hayden! :) Besides rolling over and over to get where ever she wants, she has learned how to do a cross between the worm/push up/army crawl. She sorta pushes up (looks like a baby push-up) then pushes off with her toes and pulls with her arms until her arms are under her belly and continues until she gets to where she's trying to go! It's so stinkin cute and now she can get anywhere!! She's even learning how to transition from her sitting position (sat by herself for a solid 30 minutes the other night without any help or falling over once!) to her belly so she can scootch around. The other night, she chased a water bottle (another one of those weird favorite toys) from one end of the living room to the other, then came back when I grabbed the bottle away from her! In NO time, she'll figure out how to go faster and then we'll really be on our toes! How fast they change...

1st time below 150!!

So Fridays are my weigh-in days (today!!) and for the FIRST time since probably Jan '07 I am below 150! When I got pregnant, I was right at 151 (the heaviest I had ever been!) And then, of course with "baby weight" I topped out around 175 (only gained ~ 25 lbs during pregnancy). Well, after I had Hayden, I was stuck between 160 -155. The day I began weight watchers, I was 160 on the dot. That was 6 weeks ago to the day and I'm at 149! I'm so proud of myself and despite my junk-food junkiness...I've still been able to "indulge" and lose this extra padding! Even Jeremy has lost some weight too, since he eats mostly whatever I cook...depending on how small I chop up the onions or other stuff he doesn't like! :) Right now my motivation hangs in the guest closet; my bridesmaid dress for Nic's wedding. In addition, we'll be in Mexico and I will have to wear a swimsuit (something I've managed NOT to do this summer!!) SO...thanks for reading and your support! :) Until next week....

~6 months old already~

I CANNOT believe that Hayden has been with us for 6 months already! Sometimes I think back when we first brought her home and it feels like AGES ago, but then I think about how much she's changed and am amazed at how fast time has gone by. Just reminds you to cherish all the moments (good and bad) because they are so precious!
Anyways, our little piggy weighs 17 lbs 9 ozs and is 26 inches long!! She's gained almost 3 pounds and 2 inches in just 2 months! :) The Dr even commented on her rolly thighs and that she's obviously not missing too many meals! But she's right on target where she should be...between the 50th & 75th percentiles for weight and right at 50th for height. She had to have a bunch more immunizations and it breaks my heart to see (and HEAR!) her in pain. It was short lived though and went promptly down for her nap. She's playing on the floor happily as I type! Also, she has sprouted two little teeth! Time to get out the floss! just kidding...sorta! So much has happened with her this last month. I swear overnight she became a "baby" and not an infant. While holding her, she wants whatever you have...phone, food, pen, glass, her food bowl/spoon etc. Feeding is getting REALLY messy! She's getting SO active...she can scoot around on the floor in circles and backwards. Especially if Mijo or something she wants is nearby. She hasn't quite figured out how to get her legs under her belly, but she's oh-so close...time to baby proof the entire house! I will bet by her next monthly update, she'll be crawling! She's sitting up by herself very well...until mijo runs by and she falls over trying to chase him! She's very vocal and has started screaming just to hear herself (I think she learned that from her friend baby jimmy!) We've also noticed this grunting sound she makes when she not happy, doesn't want to be where she is or is done eating. It's so funny! And...she thinks everything is hilarious...always smiling and giggling. She is loving solid foods...we've done rice and oatmeal cereal, sweet potatoes (her fav), carrots, squash, peas, green beans and avocados so far and she has liked them all. She's even started having watered down apple juice in a sippy cup...which is a little awkward, but she's getting the hang of it. We've found that the wierdest things make the best toys...empty water bottles, spoons and her new favorite is a small tupperware bowl!? So much for all those baby-specific toys huh!? Luckily, she's still our great little sleeper: 12 hours at night, plus 2-3 during the day in naps. We've even been able to put her down awake but drowsy and she'll fall asleep on her own (very nice on mommy & daddy's backs!) She'll usually fuss for about 10-15 mins before she's down for the count. We're also about to move her mattress down in her crib because she has become houdini baby. Many a times, she gets herself in the most precarious positions and no doubt will learn how to escape her crib! We no longer lug the big car seat around much; she really enjoys sitting like a big girl in the front of carts taking in all her surroundings. And...getting plenty of smiles and hello's from strangers!

Welp...that's about all I can think of now...a novel later! :) Hope everyone had a great summer and wish you all a happy fall!

Great-great Grandma Esther's Care bear!

On Monday (Hayden's 6 month birthday!) we went down to Centralia to visit my great-grandma Ester and grandpa Ralph. They hadn't seen Hayden since she was only a week or so old, so I knew we needed to make time for them...don't know how much longer they will be with us! :( Anyways, Hayden was being her cute smiley self and showing off the entire time there! Grandma kept saying that she'd never seen a baby be so good and happy! :) Then she said she remembered she had something for Hayden. She comes out with this Care Bear Grumpy that one of her girlfriend's HANDMADE years ago! It is amazing how someone could make that by hand! BUT...the best part was that Hayden ~LOVED~ it!! She kept smiling and giggling at it and reached for it the entire time we were there! Even still, after we came home, if she happens to see it...she WANTS it! Grumpy Care Bear is her new best friend! Screw Mijo who wants nothing to do with her...grumpy bear lets her hold him, suck on him and poke his eyes out! ;)
It was so nice to see Hayden's Great-great grandma & grandpa so tickled with her! As always, she's the star of the show!
