I feel so Accomplished!!

Today I made a bunch of baby food for Hayden from scratch! It was really simple and there is something so cool about making her food myself. It's nice to know exactly what (more importantly what's NOT) going into her food. So far, she really likes sweet potatoes and peas, so that's where I started. Just steamed the peas, pureed them in the kitchenaid with a little water and we've got baby sweet peas!! For the sweet potatoes...after my issues of finding "yams" in the grocery store...just washed, peeled and boiled until they were soft. They too went into the food processor, a lot more water and voila!! After cooling in the fridge, they went into their containers and into the freezer to be pulled out as needed. It's so easy! Hayden even enjoyed it...she sat in her bumbo chair playing with her favorite tupperware bowl and spoon and watched the entire time. :) Not sure what other foods I'll make...probably just the easy ones! But, I really liked doing it and found this website to be my favorite. They have a lot of good ideas and recipes!

Weight Watchers

About a month ago, I joined weight watcher's online program...mostly because I have to fit into a bridesmaid's dress in a few months and want to look decent in a swimsuit when we all go to Mexico! With my pregnancy, I didn't gain a whole lot (27 pounds I think?), but was at my highest weight when I got pregnant, so although I was at my "pre-pregnancy" weight, I still was NOT happy with how I looked. Pregnancy does a number on your body...let me tell ya! ;) SO, I had heard and know quite a few people who've done weight watchers and had good results (and have been able to maintain!) As of yesterday (my weigh-in day) I have lost 9 pounds!! I'm SO excited and it makes me even more motivated to get those last 11 pounds gone...who knows...I may try to lose even more if possible. I've never been a "skinny" girl...but just want to look good in my clothes (and a bikini if possible!!) I've mostly just followed and tracked my diet, with a little exercise thrown in here and there (tough with a baby and working to get in a good workout!) But I'm going to try to get in more exercise to hopefully get to my goal, or below it even sooner! I HIGHLY recommend weight watchers to anyone who wants to lose a lot or just a little. It's a life change and it really teaches you how to eat healthy, while still getting your "favs" in there every now and then! ;) I'm a self-proclaimed junk food junkie and if I can do it, anyone can! Wish me luck...I need all the support I can get!

Single Parents

This week Jeremy is up in Seattle for a work conference and thus, I'm a single parent! I will say right off the bat...I don't know how people take care of a baby by themselves. I definitely take for granted how much help Jeremy is with Hayden. Just having someone to hand her off to when you need to go take a poo is worth more than you know! :) Thank GOD Hayden has been fairly well behaved...going down easy, sleeping all night and just being her cute self! And thankfully, she gets to play at Sally's with Jimmy this week since her daycare is down in Centralia where Jeremy works (and usually he takes/picks her up). Sally is just a few mins away from my work, so I don't have to drive the 25 mins to centralia and back twice a day for daycare! So, although these few days are flyin' by...I just want to say bless all you out there who raise children on your own...I got the teeniest glimpse and do not envy you ONE bit! ;)
